Focusrite introduces Vocaster One , the first in-house audio interface designed specifically for podcasting . Benefit from intuitive operation , studio-quality sound , and convenient features that make your recording and streaming workflow much easier than with traditional interfaces.
The audio interface is designed to let you get started right after connecting via USB-C to USB-A cable and a quick configuration. Thanks to the +48V phantom power , XLR microphones of all types can be connected and amplified up to 70dB . Leveling is done automatically by your Vocaster One - just press and hold the Auto Gain button while recording. naturally, you can also make fine adjustments yourself, while the LED ring on the Mic Gain knob provides information about the volume. In short, leveling has never been easier!
Functions, software and connectionsThe Enhance button is also handy, offering different sound settings with its four presets and giving your voice a different sound. The presets are selected via the included Vocaster Hub software , which also serves as a control room and provides you with more information about all incoming signals.
Speaking of incoming signals, the VocasterOne is able to feed smartphone audio through the rear jack socket and eg. Phone calls into your podcast (TRRS to TRRS cable is required and not included). Furthermore, the interface offers a loopback function with the help of which you can also record/stream your computer audio signal and add it.
All signals are monitored via the built-in headphone amplifier or the rear jack outputs for monitors , so you can work versatile at any time - no matter where you are.
Last but not least, there's also a Camera Output on the back, so you can route your audio directly into a camera with TRS input.
Software to get you startedThe Focusrite Vocaster One also comes with a software bundle that allows you to record audio, integrate your podcast partners, and publish your projects. On board are:
- 3 months access to SquadCast Pro + Video
- 6 months access to Acast Influencer
- Hindenburg lite (the Pro version can also be tested for 6 months)
Now you can download the v1.3 software from the manufacturer's site and benefit from more options for podcasters. Added is the further support for the Auto Gain FUnction. When selecting ''Default'', ''Stream'' or ''Camera'' in the settings, Auto Gain levels as well as the Enhance function settings are adjusted to be optimal for podcasting, streaming or vlogging.
Users can also change the look of Vocaster Hub in Settings and enable the new dark interface in Theme Selection.
With the improved Mute feature for Host and Guest, Vocaster users can now seamlessly switch between headphones and speakers with one click to save time when adjusting the volume. The preferred level persists while everything remains connected.
